Pricing & inclusions
Understand the farm price and what belongs in your project budget.
How much does a container farm cost?
SB-40: CAD $299,000 before taxes.
Arctic: CAD $350,000 before taxes.
Delivery and site preparation are quoted separately. Your project quote confirms the configuration and included work.
What is included with the farm?
The growing system, operating software, project-specific training for your whole team and grower support are included. Your quote sets out the configuration and installation and commissioning scope for your project.
What else should I budget for?
Allow for taxes, delivery, site preparation and the funds needed to start operating. Discuss your location and plans with us so the quote and wider project budget can be considered together.
Where can I see running costs and estimated profit?
Our Monthly Costs & Profit page shows an illustrative month with itemized running costs and an owner-operated or hired-labour comparison. It explains what is included and keeps site costs, financing and taxes separate.
SB-40 & Arctic
Choose the configuration for where you plan to grow.
How do I choose between SB-40 and Arctic?
What temperatures is Arctic designed for?
Arctic is built for temperatures down to −40 °C. Share your site and local conditions so we can discuss the configuration for your project.
Can I see a real operating farm?
Explore our operating Surrey farm to see the growing, harvesting, packing and delivery behind our experience. You can also ask about a farm visit when you enquire.
Crops & growing
Build your plan around the crop and customers you have in mind.
What crops can I grow in the system?
Our operating farm grows basil. Tell us which crops you want to produce so we can discuss their growing requirements, system fit and intended market with you.
Can I grow throughout the year?
Indoor lighting, irrigation and climate control support year-round growing. Your crop plan and local conditions help determine the right configuration and growing schedule.
Do I need farming experience to get started?
Tell us your starting point and who will operate the farm. Project-specific team training helps you learn the system and build a practical operating routine.
Can you help me plan how to sell the crop?
We can discuss the customers, crop and pack formats you want to build around. Paid consulting for retail and wholesale setup is also available, with scope agreed by quote.
Workload & operation
Understand the work behind a month of production.
How much work does the farm take each week?
Our operating routine is around 20 hours per week: 16 hours of harvesting, packing and delivery over two main workdays, plus about 4 hours of checks and maintenance spread through the week.
What happens between the main workdays?
Regular checks cover the crop, growing environment and system, alongside routine maintenance. The main harvest, packing and delivery days sit within that ongoing weekly routine.
Can I run the farm myself or hire a team?
You can plan for owner operation or hired labour. Compare the two approaches on Monthly Costs & Profit, then discuss your team and working routine with us.
Site, delivery & setup
Coordinate the location, connections and delivery.
How much space do I need?
Plan for the container, delivery and placement access, and room for everyday work. Send a location, a few site photos or a sketch so we can discuss the layout before you prepare the site.
What power, water and internet do I need?
The farm needs a suitable power supply, regular city water or filtered well water, and basic Wi-Fi. We confirm connection requirements for your selected configuration and site during project planning.
What is the current lead time?
The current lead time is 3–4 months. We confirm your project schedule when quoting and planning the order.
How do delivery and site preparation work?
Delivery and site preparation are quoted separately. We work through placement, connections and the setup plan with you, so the site is ready for the farm and your team’s training. Confirm local requirements for the intended use as part of planning.
Training, software & support
Know what comes with the system and how to get help.
Is training included for my whole team?
Yes. Training is project-specific and continues until your whole team is trained. Tell us who will operate the farm so we can plan the training around your project.
Is operating software included?
Yes. Operating software is included with the farm. It supports monitoring and management alongside your crop checks and maintenance routine.
How quickly will I receive a support response?
Container-farm customers receive support responses within 24 hours, or within 12 hours for emergencies. We then work through the issue and next steps with you.
What warranty and service terms apply?
Ask us to walk through the written warranty, coverage and any on-site service or travel arrangements for your project before you order.
Financing & next steps
Turn the questions that remain into a useful conversation.
Is financing available for a container farm?
The Canadian Agricultural Loans Act (CALA) Program offers government-backed farm financing for eligible projects. Your lender assesses eligibility and the application. We can help you prepare.
View the Government of Canada CALA program, or explore our financing guide.
Can you help me prepare a financing application?
Yes. We can help clarify the farm setup, project scope and quote, and support you in preparing the application. Your lender confirms its document requirements and financing terms. See the project-to-lender steps.
How do I get a quote or discuss an early idea?
Share your location, what you want to grow and your timeframe. You can contact us while you are still exploring. Start a container-farm enquiry and we will work through the fit and next steps.
What are the payment and order terms?
Your project quote and purchase agreement set out payment timing and order terms. If you are arranging financing, coordinate the lender’s release of funds with the agreed payment schedule.
Can I get advice without buying a container farm?
Yes. Paid growing and farm consulting is available for any crop, independently of a container purchase. Tell us what you need help with; contact us for a quote.
